Risk for a newborn

- I have CF and I am chronically colonized with Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Can I take a newborn baby in my harms without risks for him?
- Answer
- Pseudomonas aeruginosa is a bacteria that is frequently encountered in our environment (water supplies..) and is usually not pathogen for humans except in case of CF or in the immunocompromised host. If the newborn baby has no CF or other chronic disease, then there is seemingly no problem and you can take him in your harms.
