towels

Question
Hello,

It is recommended that people with cystic fibrosis wash their bath towels every day. Does this apply also to all family members with their own towel?

Secondly, what is the temperature for washing the towels? And should we iron clothes and bedlinen or is it unnecessary?

Thank you.
Answer
Hello
in our CF centre about this issue, we recommend :
- Everyone has their own towels
- Let dry between uses (towel drying heater) or change it every day
This does not apply to all members of the family, but a systematic change of linen weekly seems reasonable.
When wahing with a temperature above 60 ° C and adding a detergent, bacteria do not survive and ironing will do nothing more in terms of disinfection.
But, if you wash your clothes at 30 ° C, ironing will remove some germs still present.
I hope I have answered your questions
Cordially
