sweat test

Hello,

We have a little boy, 2 years and 6 months old. From the age of two years, when he starts going in the kindergarten, he starts to get colds. In October he had an adenotomy. We have done the genetic test for 32 CF genetic mutations, but it was negative.
I want to do a sweat test but now he is under homeopathic treatment including Teucrium Marum and nux vomica 9CH and 30 ch (recommended by a homeopathy specialist).
It is possible that the sweat test result will be influenced by these substances?

Hello,
Both genetic testing and sweat test are indicated if the diagnosis of cystic fibrosis is suspected. This suspicion occurs in case of chronic cough, repeated pulmonary infections, steatorrhea, nasal polyposis (different from adenoids), failure to thrive, liver disease, etc. We presume that your child has specific clinical signs for cystic fibrosis? The diagnostic protocol includes performing a sweat test, then the genetic test in presence of a significant history and clinical picture. The sweat test may be influenced by many factors but there is no data about the influence of the mentioned medication.
