Sweat test was negative

- We had the second sweat test performed on Wednesday because it was found in the stool samples that our daughter had a protein and fat intake dysfunction. The test was negative. She is taking pancreatine now. Does that mean it is clear now that CF is no longer an issue?

- Hello,
you report that a second sweat test was carried out with your daughter that was negative. If the first test was already negative and the whole diagnosis was only revisited because of a pancreatic insufficiency, one can assume that it is not CF. This is assuming that the sweat tests were taken in an experienced CF center so that the results are reliable.
There are various clinical pictures that could be the reason for a pancreatic insufficiency; they should be clarified at a gastroenterological center.
