- Dear questioner,
to answer your question it may be helpful to clarify the terms "sterilization" and "disinfection": sterilization means that all micororagnisms and viruses which are on or in a certain object are killed.
Disinfection describes that an object is brought in a condition, that it is not infectious anymore, that means technically that the number of certain microorganisms are reduced in such a manner, that they can not infect other
things/persons anymore. This means however, that an disinfected object is
not free of germs, like a sterilized object. As methods for disinfection/sterilization there are heat (dry or humid heat, different temperatures over different times), radiance, filtration and chemical agents. Freezing is not a valid and effective measure for disinfection, as quite a substantial number of microorganisms may survive temperatures around -18 degrees celius which is the temperature in a freezer.
Therefore, it is not advisable to replace the heat disinfection of your equipment by freezing it; please see also the instructions of the manufacturer to achieve the most effective disinfection as possible.
