- Hello,
my daughter have in newborn screening positive value for cystic fibrosis (slightly increased ), subsequent examinations and sweat tests not confirmed this disease. I would like to ask, what is the likelihood that would be at my daughter in the future the disease occurred.

Since February 2009, every newborn in Slovakia has a CF screening. Screening serves to search patients before clinical manifestation of the disease. This diagnosis wasnt confirmed in your child with current available tests. Your general pediatrician was fully informed about this fact. His role is to continue with monitoring of your child. In case of any doubt, he will send you back to the CF center for further investigation.
Experts now evaluate the state as negative, your child is healthy.
