Pseudomonas in soap water and toilet spray?

Question
Dear experts,

I would like to know, whether commercial soap water and toilet sprays as for instance "brise one touch" contain Pseudomonas cells.

Best regards
Answer
Dear Questioner,

Indeed, we have detected Pseudomonas aeruginosa in soap water. The soap water was used by hospital staff for preparing younger CF patients for spirometry. After the danger was recognized that Pseudomonas could be inhaled after the soap bubbles had exploded, this procedure was terminated as far as I know.

Nothing is known about Pseudomonas in toilett sprays. In general, Pseudomonas can survive in moist soaps.

I hope that helps.
